  well, it just happened.

  two polite elderly ladies knocked on my door to share the good news of the kingdom with me.. i was pondering whether i should speak against the organization, but immediately knew it just would not work.

  How many JW's are doing bad things each year worthy of being DF'd?

  for a religious group that claims to be above reproach, with a self proclaimed, excellent reputation for godliness, i don't feel that claim is quite true.. in fact, i think its a sham to make those assertions.

  they trully should not feel they are different from any organized group, when it comes to its members following righteous standards.

  true, the wt would like all to believe they are clean and morally straight, that they are different and not tainted from the world.

  I think it depends on the congregation. Where we are it is a small congregation and the majority of the congregation are old/elderly/mature, in fact there is only one teenager in the congregation. For a few years now things have chugged along quietly.

  However, in my mother's congregation, about three times the size with lots of younger ones, disfellowshipping is a regular occurrence plus there is an 'undercurrent' of gossip about all the immorality and that is going on with the youngsters.

  Overall I think the majority of congregations have a percentage of JW's that are doing things; it is just easier to lead a double life as long as you can rather than face all the disfellowshipping/shunning ritual.

  i am new here this is my first post but ive been looking at some of the topics here for 2 or 3 months.

  well i guess i should give yall a backround of myself.

  i am a teenager, so i cant tell my family(mostly jws) how i feel.

  Great advice you have been given here. I am delighted for you that you have found the real truth at such a young age, I was over 60 and raised in! If only there had been internet when I was 16.

  Make sure you work hard and go to College/University and get the best qualifications you can. Never let parents or others in the congregation put you off getting a proper education.

  no not jws but lads aged about 10 years old.. they asked me if i wanted to buy an apple for 1.00.. coversation went as follows;.

  me: are you trying to raise money?.

  lads: yeah for charity.

  When I was that age or a bit younger I once made quite a lot of money - from CAROL SINGING door to door! Obviously something at the meetings had failed to penetrate. My parents were horrified of course.

  If my voice then was the same as it is now they were probably paying to get rid of me.

  A Child Called "It"

  i know many of you have probably already read this book, but as i was listening to it as an audio book, i had a new thought.

  this poor child was abused by his mother.

  there is a part in the book where the teachers and police are trying to get him to talk about the things his mother had done to him.

  I shouted out who killed the kennedys

  when after all it was you and me

  Lyrics changed to this apparently as Robert Kennedy had just been killed and this included John F. Not sure how either version too controversial.
